Italian Spar concessionaire Maiora has opened two new Interspar hypermarkets, in Venoza and Salento.
The first launch is a 1,150 square-metre Interspar outlet in Venoza in the Basilicata Region.
Innovative Features
The new store has incorporated several innovative features that were recently rolled out at its other Spar outlets in Nardò in Puglia and Cosenza in Calabria, the retailer said.
The fruit and vegetable department has been designed with innovative layout solutions including refrigerated counters with vertical exposure.
In the renovated butcher's section, a vertical display case has been installed for fine cuts prepared by qualified Despar experts.
The cold cuts and cheese department now has a takeaway counter and an assisted counter.
The bakery section is equipped with an on-site bakery that offers a range of freshly baked traditional breads made of natural ingredients.
The reopening of the Venosa Interspar boosts the presence of Maiora, the Despar Italia brand concessionaire for Central and Southern Italy in the Basilicata Region, which operates 30 direct and franchised sales outlets.
According to the CEO of Despar Centro Sud, Pippo Cannillo, the retailer will invest close to €7 million on new store launches and upgrading existing stores to new formats.
Wide Range Of Products
The second Interspar hypermarket opened in Nardò in the Salento region in Southern Italy.
Spread across an area of 1,600 square metres, the store offers an assortment of 15,000 SKUs, focusing on local specialities and fresh items, such as fruit and vegetables, fish, seafood, meat, and a selection of baked goods, the retailer said.
The outlet has six checkout tills for customers' convenience.
