US retailer The Kroger Co. named its new group vice president and chief digital officer, Yael Cosset, on Tuesday
Kevin Dougherty, 63, has held the post since 2015 and will retire on Jan. 27, 2017 after spending 15 years with the company.
His tenure has seen progress on the company's associate safety initiatives, as well as online order service ClickList.
Cosset is the chief commercial officer and chief information officer of 84.51°, Kroger's data analytics company.
"Kevin has been an integral partner in leading both our logistics operation and, over the last several years, leading Kroger's strategic entry into the digital space," said Rodney McMullen, the company's chairman and CEO. "He has led Kroger's e-commerce and digital customer strategy during a period of tremendous growth and change, driving innovation and reshaping our customers' digital experience."
Cosset, 43, previously worked as the global chief information officer with customer science analyst dunnhumby and as the CEO of its software company KSS Retail.
"Yael is a passionate advocate for using customer science to make a difference in the lives of our customers. His deep experience in applying technology and innovation in retail make him a perfect fit for this important role," said McMullen.
The Kroger Co. recently posted net earnings of $391 million, and identical supermarket sales growth of 0.1% (excluding fuel) in the third quarter.
