Italian retailer Végé Group is expanding its footprint in Italy’s Campania region with the arrival of Naples-based grocery retailer Nocera Bros in January 2017.
Nocera is active in the city and province of Naples, where it manages a cash & carry operation and operates a distribution network consisting of six fully-owned supermarkets and one convenience store under the name enneSÌ.
The company’s retail network also includes 46 franchised supermarkets and so-called 'superette' stores under the names enneSÌ and ennemarket.
The medium-term goal of Nocera Bros is to continue opening new fully-owned stores in the centre of Naples.
Végé Group was already prevalent in the Campania Region, a key area for distribution in central south Italy, with the following grocery retailers: Moderna, Multicedi, Gambardella Caramico Gaetano & C., Colonial Sud, Gargiulo & Maiello, ICL Food and Bava.
The retail group currently has 32 partners and over 2,470 stores throughout Italy.
It announced in October that it had seen its market share increase from 1.4% to 3.7% over the past three years, while the number of outlets operated by the retailer grew by 90%. Its total retail space has grown by 116%.
