A new hard discount chain, Vollmart, has entered the Polish market, with the opening of its first store in Siedlce on Wednesday, according to media reports.
Trade publication Wiadomości Handlowe reported that Vollmart plans to open stores in towns with a minimum population of 50,000 residents, offering around 1,200 SKUs in each of its outlets.
The retailer has adopted the slogan 'Vollmart - pełen okazji' (Vollmart – full of opportunities) for its Polish market entry.
According to Wiadomości Handlowe, Vollmart also plans to launch an e-commerce platform.
"Our customers are people with various incomes who want to manage their budget wisely," company representatives told the publication.
Vollmart isn't the only new arrival to the Polish discount market, following the arrival of Russian hard discounter Mere to Częstochowa last year.
