Waitrose has opened a Little Waitrose-branded shop in Sky’s flagship head office, in Osterly. This is the UK retailer’s second shop to open on a workplace campus, the first being a 520-square-foot shop at British Airways’ Waterside headquarters, in Hammersmith, in 1998.
The new store will be a cashless operation, accepting payment by card or through mobile devices at self-service checkouts.
In advance of the opening, Waitrose met with Sky employees to discuss their needs for the new on-campus shop.
The store will offer evening meals, food to go, fresh sandwiches, wraps and sushi, as well as fresh produce, cakes, fresh flowers and store-cupboard staples. Fresh bread and croissants will also be baked daily in store.
The workplace store will be the second smallest in all of Waitrose’s estate, at 1,400 square feet, and run by Waitrose employees, creating 20 new jobs.
