Cornwall has welcomed the opening of a second Waitrose supermarket, located in in Truro. The ceremony was attended by Mayoress, Cllr Moyra Nolan, Waitrose branch manager Chris Reynard and Sarah Newton MP.
The outlet will offer fresh produce including meat, fish and deli counters, bakery goods and also an extensive wine department. The store will also employ the John Lewis ‘click and collect’ service.
The new 21,000 square ft store in Truro is now Waitrose’s most southerly branch.
Mayor of Truro, Cllr Rob Nolan, although originally opposed to the store being at this location, has recognised Waitrose as a ‘great addition to Truro’ and welcomed the supermarket to the area.
