Waitrose Recruits 5,000 New Employees For Christmas Period

UK retailer Waitrose has created 5,000 new roles for temporary positions within its operations, to help with increased customer demand over the busy Christmas period.

Half of the new seasonal roles will be filled by new recruits, while the second 2,500 posts will be filled by previous employees, many of which are university students home for the holidays.

Full and part-time positions will be available throughout the retailer's stores including Waitrose branches and Little Waitrose convenience outlets.

Helen Hyde, Waitrose Personnel Director, said: "We are committed to offering the best customer service during the festive season, so we are happy to welcome people who wish to work in our fast-paced and friendly business.

“As we approach our busiest time of the year, the creation of thousands of varied seasonal roles will help enable us to provide our famous high-quality service for busy Christmas shoppers.”
