John Lewis' Christmas advert is traditionally the most anticipated of the year, and the retailer annually kicks-off the intense festive period competition between UK grocers for the hearts and minds of Christmas shoppers.
John Lewis has gained a reputation for producing the most memorable Christmas adverts in recent years. This year the ad is entitled 'Man on the Moon' and is reported to have cost the retailer in the region of £1 million.
John Lewis has partnered with Age UK the ad with a reminder to consumers to consider those who will be alone this year.
The full two-minute TVC features the story of a young girl named Lily as she strikes up a connection with an elderly man who she spies through her telescope.
This year the song is 'Half the World' Away by Oasis, covered by Aurora, a 19-year-old Norwegian singer.
