Angela Wimmer has been appointed as a media spokesperson at Coop Schweiz, the Swiss supermarket chain has confirmed.
She will report to Urs Meier, Coop’s head of media, and replaces Nadja Ruch, who has decided to pursue opportunities outside of the company.
A graduate of the University of Zurich in the field of media and communications, Wimmer has worked in the editorial department of Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (SRF), the Swiss broadcaster. She then took on a role in the Swiss department of foreign affairs at its consulate in Atlanta, and following that in the Swiss embassy in Washington.
At ‘the heart’ of Coop’s communication division, she will be tasked with social-network publication and ‘co-responsibility in undertakings in the areas of culture and training,’ the retailer says.
