Russian retailer X5 Retail Group has announced the opening of its 12,000th store, a Pyaterochka located in the city of Novodvinsk.
Located at 27 Tretya Pyatiletka street in the city, in the Arkhangelsk region near the White Sea, the store is the second Pyaterochka in Novodvinsk and the 81st in the area.
It has a total selling space of almost 500 square metres and a product mix of over 4,600 SKUs. With the opening, the number of jobs created by X5 in the region rose to 954, according to the retailer.
Fast Opening Pace
X5 also announced the simultaneous opening of twelve more stores in Moscow, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Kemerovo, Perm, Belgorod, Samara, as well as the Leningrad, Tula and Nizhny Novgorod regions, the Chuvash Republic and the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The Russian retail giant recently announced its acquisition of the supermarket business of food retailer O'Key. The portfolio consists of 32 supermarkets as well as real estate for 14 stores.
The retailer reached its last milestone in mid November when it opened its 11,500th national store, a hypermarket in Samara.
