Polish retailer Żabka has announced that it has stepped up measures to ensure the safety of its employees and customers as coronavirus infections continue to rise across Europe.
The retailer has increased the supply of masks and disinfectants in its stores to meet increasing demands from customers.
Assessment Programme
Żabka has launched a hygiene safety assessment programme, Safety and Hygiene +, to conduct safety checks in its stores and surrounding areas as well as in Żabka Café stands.
Auditors of the standards verification department of Żabka Polska will collaborate with the independent accredited certification body TÜV NORD Polska to conduct these assessments, the retailer said.
Anna Grabowska, vice-president of the management board for commercial affairs, Żabka Polska, said, “Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been taking a number of measures to increase the safety of our clients, franchisees and employees.”
Other Initiatives
Elsewhere, the retailer has installed unique, contactless disinfection stations in its outlets across Poland.
It conducts regular disinfection at its outlets and has rolled-out self-scanning technology to minimise contact while shopping.
