Italian beverage group Sanpellegrino is launching its renovated Levissima mineral water facility in Bormio, Valtellina.
The company plans to invest €30 million over the next few years to increase the plant's environmental performance, provide workers with more comfortable spaces, improve knowledge on the water resource, and enhance tourism.
Community Facility
Sanpellegrino describes this as a 'sharing facility'. Some areas of the plant will be open and multifunctional, to host a 'more profound interaction' with researchers at the University of Milan, and tourists who visit the Stelvio National Park and the other attractions in the mountain region.
"The huge investment confirms the virtuous relationship between the Sanpellegrino Group and the Alta Valtellina communities," said Ugo Parolo, undersecretary of the Lombardy region, with responsibilities for mountain policies.
Levissima is one of the water brands of the Sanpellegrino Group, which is part of Nestlé Waters.
