Dutch wholesaler Sligro Food Group has completed the takeover of online Christmas gifts specialist Tintelingen B.V, the company has announced.
The takeover, which was announced in December of last year, was completed last Friday.
Tintelingen specialises in bespoke Christman gifts, as well as working with business clients on corporate gift products.
The acquisition will benefit Sligro, which describes itself as one of the largest Christmas hamper suppliers in the Netherlands. It mainly supplies traditional Christmas hampers, and works with partners on a limited scale, via online select-your-own gifts.
'The acquisition of Tintelingen will give Sligro Food Group a leading position in both market segments,' the group said.
EMTÉ Update
Elsewhere, Sligro issued a statement last Thursday regarding 'potential interest' in its EMTÉ business.
While not mentioning likely suitor Jumbo by name, the release stated that, 'Sligro Food Group receives reports that parties are interested in acquiring EMTÉ, or collaborating with EMTÉ to a greater or lesser degree, on a fairly regular basis'.
Noting that it had received a non-binding, conditional bid for the business, it added that 'This is not an opportune time for bids of this kind, and Sligro Food Group has made this known to interested parties.
