Spar UK Pops Out New Private Label Popcorn Line

Spar UK is launching what it calls a 'trendy' new line of private label popcorn, available in Salted and Sweet & Salted flavours.

The popcorn market has undergone 'massive changes' in recent years, the retailer said, with the own-brand division growing by 14% in just one year.

Cath McIlwham, head of brand in the UK, said, "The trend for alternative snack choices is growing and we are delighted to respond to this by launching these two new varieties.

“Salted and Sweet & Salted are two of the top selling popcorn flavours in the market. We are providing our shoppers with not just a very tasty snack, but also a healthier option compared to other snacks and impulse purchases,” she added.

The snacks possess between 98 to 151 calories per serving.

This is one of the latest 'healthy' options that Spar UK has recently unveiled, in response to an increased demand for convenient but nutritious snacks. Other products included the private-label fruit, nut and seed snack line launched in December.
