Angola’s largest dairy company Lactiangol has launched a new production line at its Luanda facility that will allow it to double its capacity to 13,000 litres of milk per hour.
The $27 million (€23.2 million) investment will also increase yoghurt production to 5,000 litres and butter to 1,200 kilograms per day, reports Diario de Noticias. The new production line took two years to complete.
Expansion Strategy
Speaking at the opening of the expanded and modernised factory, Angola’s industry minister, Bernarda Martins, stated that the investment will allow the country to reduce milk imports.
Lactiangol’s new expansion and remodelling strategy is aimed at improving the company's technological and logistic efficiency, increasing the production capacity to fully respond to the demand and competition of imported dairy products, and increasing the amount of milk supplied from national producers.
The company produced and distributes UHT milk, school milk, yoghurts, butter, fruit juice drinks, and dairy desserts.
