British supermarket chain Asda has completed its implementation introduction of a new regional transport distribution network which it says will enhance the efficiency of deliveries across the UK and reduce operational costs.
The switch over to the regional distribution structure has been conducted over the past 18 months, using Paragon TTS, a transport optimisation and execution system integrated with real-time vehicle tracking.
Chris Hall, national transport manager at Asda said, "Paragon TTS has completely transformed our transport network and is providing significant improvements in the way we plan and manage our resources and in how we plan more than 18,000 store deliveries a week using our 900 strong fleet." (28 Sept)
