French agrifood company, Avril, which recently founded l’Atelier des Viandes with German food company Tönnies, has unveiled its recently expanded egg packaging facility in Matines de Brugnens, Gers, in the southwest of France.
The revamped packaging facility is the product of a €1.7 million investment on the part of the Avril group, which is behind the brands Lesieur and Puget.
It has increased its capacity by 30 per cent to 120,000 eggs per hour, which will amount to about 300 million annually. The extra output is expected to help meet the rising demand for organic and free-range eggs in France.
Jean-François Cauzzi, the director of the factory, said, "This investment permits us to have confidence in a very positive future, and to adequately respond to the new and changing demands of our clients."
