Rotterdam-based company Edex Food is the latest member of the Adriatic Group, a distributor of foodstuffs from the countries of the former Yugoslavia.
As part of Adriatic Group, Edex Food will be responsible for product distribution in the Benelux countries. The company is already present on the ethnic market and in leading retail chains in The Netherlands. Adriatic Group plans to further enhance the storage capacities of Edex Food in order to strengthen its market performance in this area.
Following the acquisition of Edex Food, Adriatic Group has become the largest distributor of food brands from the Balkans (such as Podravka, Argeta, Vegeta, Doncafe, Bambi, Klas, Natura, Jami and Brajlović) in 14 EU countries. The company has distribution units in Stuttgart, London and Rotterdam, as well as two factories in Bosnia and Herzegovina for processing fruit and vegetables under the private label brand “Natura”.
Adriatic Group has also set up the Agrona company in Živinice for agricultural production, primarily of gherkin of which more than 3,200 tons were exported this year to factories in Germany, Austria and Croatia.
