France's Cdiscount has opened a new 40,000-square-metre logistics centre in Saint-Mard which will greatly boost both its click-and-collect and delivery capacity for the catchment area, which includes Île-de-France.
It was opened by Emmanuel Grenier, managing director of Cnova and president of Cdiscount. Its primary function is the distribution of furniture products and home appliances. It complements the 60,000-square-metre Cdiscount warehouse in Saint-Etienne.
In an interview with LSA.fr, Grenier said that price positioning and speed of delivery were among the key calculations when constructing the e-commerce centre. It will facilitate the delivery of about 4,000 SKUs.
For orders placed before 2pm, collection is possible between 7pm and 11pm.
