UK supermarket chain, Co-op, has teamed up with the Quality Food Awards to find the 'Small Producer of the Year' for 2017.
The awards aim to showcase the quality and innovation of the nation’s smaller, local producers. Co-op will work with together with the finalists to help them get their products into stores and develop their businesses.
Commitment To Small Producers
“It’s exciting to collaborate with smaller producers. It’s their innovation, quality, passion and traditions which ensure that their products are much loved locally," said Sue Wade, Co-op’s category trading manager for local, regional and ethnic foods."
The Co-op say they are committed to investing in local economies and creating opportunities for smaller producers. "We are thrilled [...] to champion, showcase and celebrate great British food and drink. The search is on for the UK’s 'Small Producer of the Year', 2017,” Wade concluded.
