Coop Crowdfunding has announced a partnership with CONNECT Denmark to assist small and medium-sized Danish food producers.
As part of the partnership, Coop's experts in business development, procurement, and marketing will act as advisors to smaller companies, the cooperative said.
'New Food Companies'
Mike Dranov, associate director of Coop Amba - the association that owns Coop Denmark and Coop Crowdfunding - said, "We want to be number one in the development of new food companies to create renewal in our industry and to secure new and better groceries for our customers."
CONNECT Denmark is a non-profit network comprising around 800 members, who volunteer to help entrepreneurs and SMEs in developing and growing their businesses.
The network includes experienced managers, experts, and other employees from both small and large companies.
'A Unique Opportunity'
Gitte Haaning Høj, director of CONNECT Denmark, said, "We are delighted to be working with Coop Crowdfunding because it creates a unique opportunity for the many new food producers that are emerging in these years.
"Now they can get advice from the country's leading grocery experts, they will have the opportunity to finance through Crowdfunding and a better chance of entering the shelves of the largest chains."
