Coop Switzerland has unveiled a new IT/Production/Services division, with which the retailer is seeking to strengthen its IT operations and 'meet the challenges of digitisation', the retailer said in a statement.
The new division will be managed by Coop chief financial officer Reto Conrad. Coop Switzerland added that the move will help it improve the level of vertical integration along its supply chain, which includes its brands Swissmill, Chocolats Halba, Steinfels Swiss, Reismühle Brunnen and Nutrex.
Replacing Conrad in the role of CFO will be Adrian Werren, who joined Coop in 1995 in the auditing department. Since 2009, he has held the role of head of Controlling, and is a member of the board at Coop Vitality AG, The Body Shop Switzerland AG, railCare AG and Valentin Pontresina AG.
