Italian food, confectionary and beverage company Dolcitalia has signed exclusive direct distribution agreements with German multinational Storck and Slovenia’s Fructal.
Dolcitalia will be responsible for the central management of both orders and distribution to its affiliate agents and wholesalers in Italy, as well as cross-channel promotion.
As a result of this agreement, Italian consumers will be able to purchase selected Storck and Fructal products at retail outlets and speciality stores, with guarantees in terms of product quality and use of selected raw materials.
The products include Merci chocolates and Werther's Original caramel flavoured candy from Storck, and Frutabela energy bars produced by Fructal.
According to Dolcitalia’s director, Stefano Raffaglio, the goal of this project is to consolidate the existing direct relationship with wholesalers, as well as offer a solution already tested in foreign markets.
Dolcitalia has established itself as a leader in confectionary distribution to the normal trade channel, with a 30 per cent market share. Its network of 170 affiliated distributors reaches almost 200,000 retail outlets through a network of approximately 1,000 agents.
