ECR Community is hosting a workshop entitled 'Sell More, Waste Less' in Prague on 30 November.
The event, which will take place in the city's University of Economics, will feature a range of talks from industry experts, along with round-table discussions.
Collaborative Model
The main focus of the workshop will be the launch of a new assessment tool for retailers and producers that will help them explore how to prevent waste through collaboration.
The 'collaborative maturity' model was developed through a partnership between ECR Community Shrinkage and On-Shelf Availability Group and Oliver Wyman management consultants. The model includes introducing initiatives such as repurposing, case-size changes, shorter supply chains, product innovation, efficient assortment, forecasting, and more.
Among the speakers set to address the Prague event are James Bacos, senior partner and global leader of retail and consumer-goods practice at Oliver Wyman; Emanuela Casalini, barcode specialist at GS1 Italy; Dr Nevin Mutlu, assistant professor in industrial engineering at Eindhoven University; and Rob Broekmuelen, assistant professor of retail operations at Eindhoven University of Technology. A timetable can be found here.

The event is free to attend, and ECR Community is expecting over 50 delegates representing buying, supply-chain and waste-prevention experts from retailers, as well as producers and academics. For retailers and manufacturers looking to attend, click here to register free of charge.
