Agrifood giant Groupe Avril has published its New Ambitions to Build the Future plan, which outlines the company's intentions for business expansion up until 2020, with emphasis on protein development and building a presence in Africa.
“Avril 2020 is the new strategic plan developed in 2015 by all entities in the Group, with the active participation of farmers,” the group says. “This new plan focuses on two important challenges to be met so that the Group can better prepare and gear up for the future of the sector: proteins and Africa.”
The company says the Avril 2020 project involves becoming a customer-focused group that is strong and competitive in its markets, building an international presence by expanding into new markets, driving sustainable value as a company, and enlarging its workforce.
“Avril is investing in Sub-Saharan Africa in order to develop its food-related activities, as it has already achieved successfully in Morocco with respect to olive oil and sunflower [oil], and is starting to do so in Senegal in the peanut sector, working with professional partners,” the company said.
