Grupo Miquel is aiming to position itself as the leading platform for food producers in the South of Spain to access Asian markets, China in particular.
As reported by revistaaral.com, Francesc Pallarès, Director, and Ricard Barba, Export Manager, confirmed the company's intentions during a press conference held recently at Alimentaria.
Grupo Miquel's directive met last month with its suppliers to inform them about the company's plans to tackle the Chinese market together. Over 200 suppliers were reportedly present at the meeting.
"We have the objective of becoming a permanent platform and a reference in exports over the next few years" said Pallarès.
Grupo Miquel plans to open a Cash & Carry in Shanghai by 2017 to implement its business model in the Chinese city.
