Inalca Food & Beverage, a distributor of traditional Italian products, has entered the Australian market through the acquisition of 60 per cent of Fresco Gourmet and Itaus.
The two companies are specialised in the distribution of fresh and fine foods from all over the world, and especially from Italy, France, Spain and Greece, with a range of 1.200 products and about 350 clients. These include large-scale retail distributors such as Aldi, Woolworth, Costco, Harris Farm, Coles, David Jones and IGA.
According to IF&B, the deal will enable the brand to quickly expand on the Australian market, which is characterised by high grow rates of fine imported food and beverage products, especially of European origin.
As part of its global strategy of acquiring small and medium local distributors, IF&B is evaluating other growth opportunities in Singapore, Vietnam and Philippines.
