German discounter Kaufland has pledged its support for the campaign 'Tafel macht Zukunft – gemeinsam digital' (Tafel makes the future- together digital), developed by the charity Tafel to tackle food waste.
The retailer plans to promote the venture during its pilot phase.
'Tafel Macht Zukunft'
Tafel organisations throughout Germany and their project partners are developing the platform in order to improve the networking capabilities of the Tafel organisation.
The platform also aims to make the transfer of food to those in need more effective and efficient. For example, the optimisation of route planning offered by digital services can save time and costs for Tafel.
The project is also being funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
