The Scottish arm of retailer Lidl will be moving its headquarters to the Eurocentral industrial estate in North Lanarkshire, creating 360 new positions.
According to the DailyRecord.co.uk, four hundred staff from its current facility in Livingston, which Lidl moved into in 1996, will be transferred to the new distribution centre once construction is completed.
North Lanarkshire Council approved the move on 23 February, giving the green light to the 58,000 square metre regional distribution centre.
Ross Millar, managing director for Lidl in Scotland, commented, “We have worked very closely with North Lanarkshire Council since 2016 and are greatly encouraged by the committee’s decision".
“Our new regional distribution centre not only signifies an investment in our own infrastructure and workforce, but also highlights our wider ambitions within Scotland as Lidl UK continues to experience incredible growth."
Construction will begin within the next six months.
