German discounter Lidl has opened a new distribution centre in Virginia.
According to Progressive Grocer, the $125 million dollar facility will open, at the latest in 2018 and will provide 200 jobs in Virginia's Spotsylvania County.
Brendan Proctor, chief executive of Lidl US said that the retailer chose Spotsylvania for it's central location, talented workforce and economic vitality.
This site is Lidl's second in Virginia, the first was acquired last August in Massaponax. The discounter is planning to launch its US operation in 2018, with its first stores to be located in the state.
In total, Lidl operates nearly 10,000 stores in 26 countries.
