UK supermarket chain Morrisons has agreed a new three-year contract starting in March 2018 that will mean its own-brand liquid milk is provided by Arla Foods.
As part of the deal, the retailer has also committed to ‘further enhancing its regional and local milk offering’.
Steve Newbould, Morrisons Head of Trading - Dairy, said: “We believe this agreement will be simpler for our business and will help to develop a sustainable dairy sector.”
Last week Morrisons ranked 5th among the most popular stores in the UK, according to a study by consumer group Which?.
It also reported a like-for-like sales rise of 3.4% in the first quarter of this year.
Arla, the Danish based international dairy company has a similar contract with another UK retailer, Asda.
