Le Groupement des Mousquetaires has recently green-lit the next phase of a long-term logistical restructuring operation, which will see the creation of new supply-chain jobs, the termination of some older ones, and the relocation of warehouses, according to LSA.
The controller of Intermarché will also relocate 401 employees as part of the initiative, which will not be fully completed until 2018.
The firm is investing heavily in retraining and upskilling many of its logistical personnel.
The Mousquetaires board confirmed that its new supply-chain centres will be located in Neuillac, Erbrée and Bourges.
Its logistical stations in Rostrenen (Côtes d'Armor), Saint-Gérand (Morbihan), Levet (Cher), Avermes (Allier), Magny-le-Desert (Orne) and Mellac (Finistère) will no longer be operational.
LSA reports the company as commenting that the new supply-chain project will help to “serve points of sale, improve communication quality, minimise storage space, and achieve cost-effective logistical solutions”.
