Italian consortium Coralis has introduced a new label that enables consumers to immediately identify the origin of Italian food products and trace a product through the entire supply chain, from producer to distributor.
According to Coralis, Etichètto is an "ethical" programme, as well as a tool to restore the "transparency" around the origin and processing of products.
It does not replace a manufacturer's brand, but is complementary to it, highlighting the quality aspect. In short, the label states that a particular product is Italian, contains no GMOs and has no harmful ingredients.
Etichètto is configured as a "social label" that makes transparency and ethical guarantees its principal values, without belittling the role of producers. It is based on an alliance with all parties involved: farmers, manufacturers and customers.
