Liquor distiller Pernod Ricard has pledged to continue working towards the UN's Sustainable Development Goals through projects such as increasing farming cooperatives' harvests and income in Armenia, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
The drinks company has been collaborating with Positive Planet, a French state-sponsored foundation, since 2015 to help develop farming cooperatives in the Armenian province of Tavush. It is planning to invest in more farming machinery, such as mulchers, irrigation equipment, and cultivators, between October of this year and March 2017.
Pernod Ricard also wants to increase the number of members in farming cooperatives and fund two new cooperatives, between January and December of next year.
