FMCG giant Procter & Gamble is to open a new detergent factory in Urlati in Romania in 2021, reports Romania Insider.
The new facility is located in Urlati, close to Ploiesti, where the company also operates a shampoo factory.
Procter & Gamble received state aid of around RON 30 million (€6.3 million) to set up the factory, the report said.
The new detergent factory will create around 120 new jobs and manufacture liquid detergent capsules, one of P&G's biggest innovations in the fabric care category.
Attractive Profile
Speaking at an event marking 25 years of Procter & Gamble in Romania, the vice-president of its south-eastern Europe division, Antoine Brun, said that the country's attractive profile, the company’s success in the market and competent workers have made the investment in the factory a reality.
Procter & Gamble commenced operations in Romania in 1994 with its headquarters in Bucharest.
The company employs around 750 people in the country, and also operates the Urlati shampoo factory and a global services centre.
