Dutch poultry company Plukon Food Group has announced that it has agreed to acquire 51% of the shares in Fresh Care Convenience BV, a subsidiary of Staay Food Group.
The move is in line with the Plukon's goal to invest in vegetable chains and vegetable processing.
The acquisition will also mutually benefit both companies by strengthening sourcing, existing logistics channels, and production capacity.
Fresh Care Convenience specialises in the production and processing of fresh fruit and vegetables into mixes, meal components, and meal salads.
It will complement Plukon's product and marketing combination, as it offers convenience meal solutions to Dutch retailers.
The transaction is subject to approval from relevant competition authorities and will be resubmitted to the Plukon Central Works Council for advice, the company added.
