Żabka Polska has opened its fifth logistics centre, which will service around 1,000 stores in the Silesia region and surrounding areas.
The facility is located at Szałszy, near Gliwice, and covers around 25,000 square metres, including 4,000 square metres of storage space at controlled temperatures. It is capable of processing close to 18,500 pallets.
The new site joins other Żabka logistics facilities in Plewiska, near Poznań, in Nadarzyn, near Warsaw, in Będszyna, near Pruszcz Gdański and in Tychy, according to local news source Wiadomosci Handlowe.
Żabka has had a presence in Silesia since 1999, when it opened its first outlet in Dąbrowa Górnicza. The company currently employs around 3,000 personnel in the region.
Logistics Efficiency
The company said that the new opening will enable it to improve its logistics efficiency, and respond more 'dynamically' to the needs of its clients.
"The warehouse system of our company is an accurate reflection of the standards of our service - the shortest possible route of order fulfillment to the store is the key to success," Katarzyna Słabowska, logistics director at Żabka Polska told Wiadomosci Handlowe.
