Dielna, a subsidiary of French agri-industrial firm Groupe Avril, has announced its acquisition of Provimi's liquid food manufacturing business in France.
Both companies specialise in animal nutrition and produce liquid feed for animals such as cows and sheep.
"This operation will increase the access to liquid feed for breeders," said Olivier Dioux, CEO of Dielna. "Liquid food plays an essential role in improving digestibility, reducing the sorting at the trough, and meeting the sugar requirements of animals, thus leading to improved technical and economic performance."
Market development
Dielna is currently the market leader in liquid food, producing 35,000 tons per year, but the company says that it intends to develop its presence further through this business deal.
Paul Cuenca, president of Provimi France agreed that this deal would lead to positive development in the market.
"This sale is in line with the desire to rationalise the organisation of Provimi in France and to focus on our core business," he said. "Therefore, ceding our liquid food business to the French market leader makes sense."
"This takeover by a company specialising in liquid food will [continue] the development of this activity."
