Following the implementation of its 'five-points' egg programme, Spar Austria has rewarded a number of its Austrian egg farmers with bonuses of up to €1,600 per farm.
This year, Spar donated bonuses valued at €130,000 to farmers all over Austria.
"We created two positive factors with our five-points egg programme - we can offer our customers top quality, and our farmers get bonuses for the fulfillment of the high standards", said a company spokesperson.
The rules of the five-point egg programme include a ban on GMO feed and strict guidelines for product quality, hygiene and animal protection.
