Dutch wholesale purchasing cooperative Superunie has named Bas van Maren as its new chief financial officer, reports www.distrifood.nl.
Van Maren has been a part of Superunie for the past eight years, and has served as business control manager at the group.
According to Superunie, he was instrumental in developing the cooperative's supply chain finance, and new reporting and risk management systems.
He will succeed Guus Slik, who served as the financial chief at the business for the past 25 years.
Superunie represents thirteen Dutch supermarket organisations including Coop, Sligro, Spar, Plus and Vomar.
