Maniele Tasca, board member of ESD Italia and general manager of Selex Group, has been appointed as the new president of the European Marketing Distribution (EMD) group.
Tasca was elected at the EMD AG shareholders' meeting in Zurich, Switzerland, and takes over from Jaime Rodriguez Bertiz, who has been EMD's president for two years.
“The EMD-platform gives suppliers more and more opportunities to expand their business together with our powerful members. The growing number of suppliers is proof of the interest in our business model,” said Tasca.
Group Profile
EMD was established in 1989 and is one of the leading purchasing alliances in Europe, representing a total of €178 billion in sales in Europe alone.
The group operates in 20 European countries, as well as in Australia and New Zealand. The purchasing alliance is active worldwide in the procurement of private label products and in negotiating with manufacturers of branded products at transnational level.
