Food retail logistics experts from Belgium, the Netherlands, Great Britain, and Scandinavia have given their 'thumbs up' to the newly-developed Box Order System (BOS) by WITRON.
The new system was presented at an 'Expert Day' at WITRON's headquarters in Parkstein, Germany.
Commenting on the new system, Jack Kuypers, WITRON Vice President North Western Europe, said, "With BOS, we continue our successful end-to-end strategy: end-to-end within the entire supply chain, from the supplier to the customer; end-to-end with regard to the development of an innovative solution, through to the complete system operation; and end-to-end with regard to person-machine processes."
According to industry experts, the patented solution is going to set 'new standards' in the handling of totes and cardboard boxes within the fruit and vegetable and perishable environment.
At the 'Expert Day', Karl Hoegen, Vice President WITRON USA, explained how the BOS was developed, starting by measuring the requirements of the market, on to the development stage, and through to realisation.
