Żabka Polska has announced plans to open its sixth logistics centre, near Wroclaw, which will provide an estimated 200 jobs.
The group currently operates five logistics centres, from which products are distributed to over 6 000 chain stores throughout Poland.
The establishment of the new logistics centre will allow the company to respond better to the needs of its customers in south-west Poland, the retailer said, and increase the efficiency of deliveries to stores.
Network Reach
The centre will join the Żabka logistics network, covering distribution centres in Plewiska, near Poznań, in Nadarzyn near, Warsaw, in Będszyn, near Pruszcz Gdański, in Tychy, and in Szałsza, near Gliwice.
The new centre will have a total warehouse and office space of over 20,000 square metres, and will serve almost 1,000 stores, located primarily in the area of south-west Poland. Deliveries from the facility to network branches across the country will be carried out six days a week.
The new warehouse will include modern automation technologies such as automatic battery charging for transport trucks and refrigeration monitoring, the group said, as well as LED lighting.
