Dutch retailer Albert Heijn, part of the Ahold group, has launched the 'AH Bezorgbundel', which translates as 'AH Delivery Bundle', promising unlimited free delivery for three months for a subscription fee of €29.
The new initiative, which has been rolled out on a trial basis, is currently only available in Rotterdam, and only applies to orders of €70.
A spokesperson for Albert Heijn told Distrifood that the new programme will be "especially attractive to people who order online regularly".
The trial will run for three months, following which an appraisal will be made as to whether to instigate a nationwide rollout.
