Online retailer Amazon has announced that it is extending the AmazonFresh grocery service in the German cities of Berlin and Potsdam, and now includes a range of over 100,000 products.
The service allows Amazon Prime customers to complete their weekly shopping online. The expanded product range includes fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, dairy and bakery products, as well as cosmetics and pet supplies.
Customers can place an order until noon to receive the delivery in time for dinner, or order before 11pm and receive it the next day during a selected two-hour delivery window. In addition, purchases can be delivered to a secure place if the customer is unable to accept them in person.
Among the offered items are branded products including Coca-Cola, Herta, Vitalis and Magnum, as well as private label products. Customers can also order items from 25 of Berlin's smaller stores.
Delivery History
AmazonFresh was launched in Germany last month, but food and beverages have been available on Amazon.de since 2010. The range of products has been continuously expanded.
In addition, the delivery of a small selection of frozen items is available for Amazon Prime Now members in Berlin and Munich. Customers can receive their order within an hour for €6.99, or within a two-hour delivery window for free.
To benefit from AmazonFresh, Prime members have to pay an additional €9.99 per month. In exchange, they receive free delivery on orders over €40.
