Following a successful deployment in the city’s fifteenth arrondissement (district) Auchan has announced that it is to open its second click-and-collect point in Paris, where people can claim items they have purchased in advance through the Auchan website, auchandirect.fr, LSA reports.
This represents diversification for the online division of the French grocer, as it deals primarily in home deliveries at present.
The single click-and-collect point it operates in Paris at has 90 square metres of floor space, and is capable of holding 250 orders at any given time. This possesses, respectively, a temperature-controlled zone for fresh produce, and for frozen goods.
Auchan customers can collect their shopping three hours after placing their order. The date of opening has not been divulged to the media as of yet.
