Talinn-based grocery delivery service Bolt Market has started operations in Croatia, as part of an effort to expand its activities across Europe, according to media reports.
The first Bolt Market warehouse or 'dark store' has opened in Zagreb, from where over 1,500 products from well-known brands and manufacturers will be delivered to customers.
Each 'dark store' will have a store manager and three to four ‘pickers’ per shift, with enough stocks of groceries for one day of orders.
How It Works
To avail of the service, users need to download the Bolt Food app on their smartphones, which will redirect them to the nearest Bolt store.
After selecting the desired food for delivery and before confirming the order, the application displays the price of the order and the estimated delivery time.
Payment is possible in cash upon collection or with a bank card for which data has been previously added in the application.
After completing the ordering process, users can track the location of the order and the delivery person via the app.
Bolt promises to deliver groceries within 15 minutes within a radius of five kilometres from the store. Delivery within three kilometres is free of charge.
Management
Branimir Zorko, who has many years of experience in the FMCG sector and e-commerce, has been named as country manager of Bolt Market in Croatia.
The company plans to cover the whole of Zagreb with Bolt stores by the spring of 2022, before expanding to the rest of Croatia.
The Bolt platform was already present in Croatia with transport services (Bolt) and food delivery (Bolt Food).
