Carrefour has invited hackers and programmers to a three-day 'hackathon', in a bid to improve its customer experience and better predict future trends.
The hackathon will take place from 23 to 25 September in Paris' largest fablab, IO Factory, in the 13th arrondissement.
Participants include developers, designers, makers, marketing specialists, and data scientists.
The main topics covered will include how to better predict trends and stock outages as well as tackle wastage, and how to improve the customer experience.
The prize for the best algorithm will be a cheque for €2,000. Also, five teams will be selected to receive two months' worth of business sponsorship, as well as a shared prize worth of €8,000.
