Carrefour Polska has announced that it is to launch Carrefour Sprint - a new grocery delivery service which will deliver orders within three hours.
Initially, the service will be available to shoppers residing within five kilometres of selected stores in Warsaw and Kraków.
It will allow customers to order on the Carrefour website or via the app and receive their purchases within three hours.
'The Next Stage'
Michał Sacha, board member and director of marketing, digital, IT, e-commerce, and financial services at Carrefour Polska, said, “Launching Carrefour Sprint is the next stage in the development of our e-grocery and an important element of the omnichannel strategy implemented by Carrefour.
“In line with our ambitions, we want to meet and even anticipate the needs of our customers and offer them a wide range of comfortable solutions to facilitate the purchasing process.”
Roll Out Schedule
Carrefour hypermarket in Arkadia in Warsaw will be the first to launch the service on 15 October.
This will be followed by rollouts at the Carrefour store in ul. Światowida on 16 October, and the Carrefour hypermarket in Galeria Mokotów the next day.
On 19 October, the retailer's outlet at Warsaw Promenada will introduce the service.
Carrefour Sprint will be launched in selected stores in Kraków and Gdańsk by the end of October, the retailer added.
Key Pillars
Investment in e-grocery shopping is one of the key pillars of the omnichannel strategy adopted by Carrefour.
In August of this year, the retailer added grocery shopping to its Click & Collect service to enable customers to purchase groceries from the carrefour.pl online store and collect their orders from any Carrefour hypermarket or supermarket across the country.
