A new integration to C-où, the Carrefour mobile shopping app, has been unveiled.
The French retailer has worked with Samsung, Publicis Shopper and Think&Go to produce its own 'wearable shopping' technology in the form of a watch-and-smartphone combination. Together, the two devices allow customers to streamline their shopping experience.
The phone and watch operate conjunctively. A shopping list is created on the former, and is then available on the latter when the user is in store. The list is organised by product category and updated in real time. This eschews the annoyance of having to return to already-passed-through sections of Carrefour's supermarkets after forgetting a desired item.
In a statement, the company spoke of its "willingness to incorporate new technologies into its strategies for meeting customers' needs and keeping pace with changes in their consumer habits".
The technology is available on Samsung Gear S watches, although it will also be compatible with Android watches within the near future.
